Polly Evans is a television presenter, best known for her presenting work on the BBC South East Today news programme. Rob Smith and Polly took over the co-anchor roles from Geoff Clark and Beverley Thompson in mid September 2009. ==Career== Polly started broadcasting at the University of Leeds working early mornings on the campus radio station. She then went to Cardiff Journalism School to do a post-graduate diploma. Later she went to post-war Bosnia to make a film about a new impartial television station for the country.〔 While on a gap year, she worked in Japan as an English teacher, living in Tokyo. She comments it was "wonderful, challenging and totally bizarre!".〔 After returning to the UK Polly initially worked in the features department of BBC Radio Wales developing and making programmes for BBC Radio Four. She then joined BBC Radio Wales News as a reporter and bulletins reader, moving to BBC Radio Devon a year later. After that she reported and presented bulletins for the television news programme Spotlight and the South West Politics Show.〔 Just before the general election in 2005 Polly joined South East Today. In April 2011, she opened the first of 14 restored Edwardian seaside shelters in Ramsgate. In 2014, she became a Culture Awards guest judge.
